Thoughts of Helplessness and Silent Thank you Prayer
Couldn't help but think how helpless all those people would be feeling in the flood-hit districts in my state. Imagine seeing nothing but water all around you... dark... muddy... polluted... a talk about snakes sneaking in... even a stray crocodile... imaging being caught in such a situation and staying in that for hours together... even days perhaps... hmmm... not very enterprising thoughts... to top this, not a single drop of water... no food... you see your parents and children look at you to help them seek some food and water... damn!!! its such a disturbing thought man...
To escape such thoughts I stepped out with dad to run some errands... dad went into a shop to buy a few things while I waited for him sitting in the car ( couldn't get parking space)... Sitting there alone listening to the radio I see a girl walking approaching me... looked around 20-21 yo... holding a file folder in one hand ( i could see that it had a print of her resume) and a mobile phone in another... peering carefully and then seeing around at the signboards of the building around as if searching for an address... maybe searching the name of a company where she is supposed to interview... trying to cover herself in between with the folder... its drizzling slightly.... man... she looked worried... tense... nervous... you can actually see that feeling of desperation... as if she is saying... "God !! help me find this XYZ co. I desperately need this job... !!" Have you ever gone through such feelings... feelings of desperation... helplessness.... I have... many times in the past... some quite recently....
Sitting there... i said a silent prayer... thank you prayer... for keeping me out of such troubles... all my other troubles seem so small now !!! Thank you God !!! Thank you !!
Some quotes that cross my mind now....
"All the time I was complaining about how bad my shoes were.... I stopped complaining when I saw that some people do not have feet at all.. !!"
"Mat dekh kar vishwaas kar apney haathon ki laakeeron ko..... wo kismat nahi batati... kyonki kismat to unki bhi hoti hai... jinkey haath nahi hotey.. !!"

700,100, 7, 1, 10 ....
I started reading, sorry studying Bhagawadgeeta from Jan 1st - 7 slokas every day. Now, why on Jan 1st only?? and 7 slokas day? Many reasons...
For starters there are 700 slokas in the Song Divine... So, if I consider 7 slokas per day, it would take exactly 100 days to complete it. 100 seems like a great number ... Also the number 7 is very significat in our culture - there are 7 days in a week, 7 sages (Saptarshulu), 7 birth relation (edu janmala-sambandham), 7 steps in a marraige (edu adugulu), 7 raagas (sapta swaraalu), 7 horses of the sun (ratha sapthami, sooraj ka saathwaan ghoda), etc., etc.,
Now, if I start on 1st Jan it would be 10th April (considering 2009 to be a non-leap year) by the time I complete my endeavour - which incidentally is my birthday too !!! Infact every year, I used to brag with my friends that people all over the world celebrate completion of 100 days of new year as my birthday.... !!! sounds interesting, innit??
Anyways, I pray to Lord Krishna that he walks along with me throughout my journey.... Amen !! Now, I will have one more reason to feel happy on my birthday

Practice makes man perfect...
Yes, and this holds good even for directors who re-make their own films... gosh!! you are so intelligent... I didn't even had to give you even a single clue. Yeah! its Ghajini and am talking about its 2-time director A R Muragadoss (some connection with Anbumani Ramadoss ???) hehe...
Ghajini will make it to the history pages as the last film I saw last year in a theatre. For people who haven't seen the previous version in telugu/tamil will not be able to appreciate this post, but people who have seen the namesake, will understand what am talking. The first thing which struck me when I saw the AK's version is how much the director has improved upon his previous attempt. I am not saying that the hindi version is anything being close to perfection but he has definitely dished out a better movie this time around. My post will lose its credibility if it doesnt talk about the "new and improved" climax in the hindi version. I just didnt like the telugu/tamil version's climax... or actually anti-climax. Also the concept of look-alike villanous twins also was quite an eyesore.
To be very honest, the songs in the hindi version actually come in the way of the pace of the movie even though I just love the songs in isolation. On one side, am actually humming along the song and on the other side, am itching for the song to finish and hope that the movie advances. There is one particular scene which I thought the director would have handled it better in the hindi version but I was disappointed. I'm talking about the scene when the bad guy and his goons tear apart all the clues the protogonist had accumulated in his house and blotch away the tattoes all over his body quite painfully. I was waiting to see how AK would react after he regains consciousness ... is he shocked to see all the clues gone? does he have to redo the entire investigation all over?? does he even remember that he was investigation something at all?? and many more such weird thoughts. But it all turned out to be a damp squib.
Any other actress would have slipped into Jiah Khan's role. Nothing great about it. Asin played the role as is she was sleep-walking. AK was good but just good. I mean those boyish grins are fast becoming monotonous now. You cannot carry your entire career on that just one expression. With tighter editing, probably the movie could have been reduced in its length.
Final verdict - Its not a perfect movie but much much much better than the director's vernacular version. Go watch it for AK's commitment towards his character, for the breathtaking cinematography (in bits-and-pieces, especially the chase scene at the climax), haunting music, trauma and pain that shows but doesnt show off. Ghajini had its moments.

No KT for these ministers.... ??
Read an article just now on a website about PC starting work as home minister and PM taking additional charge as finance minister. Don't these ministers need a detailed KT (Knowledge Transfer)?? Are they so knowledgeable that they can assume charge just like that? Either that or they really don't have to do any work anyways. Its usually the secretaries and other bureaucrats who do the actually work...

Wild and disturbing thoughts...
Last couple of days have been very very disturbing for me. Not that this is happening for the first time to me. But just that whatever has been happening for the last 72 hrs is just not done... I mean, the thought that a bunch of desperados armed with grenades, guns and guts could hold an entire city for ransom.. gives me the creeps. I kept visiting the cafeteria every couple of hours to see the progress being shown in TV and if that was not enough, kept visiting every possible news website to see if there was any positive progress.

International Exhibition and Conference on Civil Aviation - India Aviation 2008 “Scaling new Heights”
That human beings have always been fascinated with “flying” is an absolute no-brainer. So much so that many scientists would want to believe that after the invention of wheel, the concept of travel via airplanes/gliders was the most radical invention which ensured that the gates between east and west came crashing down. So, when I heard of the Indian Aviation Show 2008 being conducted in Begumpet, Hyderabad, I was raring to go for this. I couldn’t wait to see these man-made birds on display and in action. The entire event spanned across 4 days with the first three days dedicated for business visitors and the last day for the general public.
I first thought that the first 3 days were purely for business visitors. But when I saw the online forums reporting of photography enthusiasts also getting in and managing to take some cool pictures, I decided to give it a try but could actually make it only on the public day (18th Oct, 2008). Thanks to BookMyShow, I managed to book tickets for the show a day before and was actually very happy with my smart decision. Little did I know that all this would turn out to be such a farce!! Yes, even if you book your tickets online, you need to stand in the queue for atleast 30-45 mins to convert your confirmation email into their pre-printed passes, which I thought was a criminal waste of time and paper. If wading through heavy traffic just to get to the Begumpet Airport doesn't tire you, then standing in the queue to get your passes will surely do the trick. And if this wasn't enough, you are forced to wait for another couple of hours to get past the heavy security and get into the exhibition area. It's during this time that I ran into fellow shutter-bugs who were so put off by the crowd that they decided to beat the retreat and go back home without even trying to get in. My friend and I somehow managed to get through the "Press" entry, thanks to a police patrol guy who quickly sized up the situation and diverted a major part of the crowd onto the Gate 2 (Press) from Gate 3(General).
Once inside, it’s almost a carnival-like atmosphere. It instantly reminded me of the scenes at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport when it was inaugurated on March 23rd, 2008. I guess that was the first indication that the citizens of Hyderabad take their Aviation as serious fun!! So, coming back to the Aviation Show, there were thousands of people (official figures are close to fifty thousand) all doing their thing. On one side you could see some waiting in the queue to catch a glimpse of the history of Indian Aviation Industry, on the other side there were others who were busy gazing and gesturing animatedly towards the man-made birds while a lot others were just generally having fun. In the middle of all this there were some fellow photography buffs like me who were busy finding the right angle and position to click their pictures.
We decided to first have our lunch (remember it was almost 1 PM when we went inside) and then go about looking at the stalls of various Aviation related players. All the big names like Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier, EADS, Bell Helicopter, ATR, etc., were in full attendance. This was a fantastic platform for them to showcase their products and services to ministerial delegations from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan and yes, not to forget the general public. No prizes for guessing, which was the most visited stall of all – the Airbus stall for its mini models of Airbus A380 and Bell Helicopter stall for its huge chopper on display. Some of the stall volunteers were kind enough in letting people pose and take pictures with their models while others had a tough time keeping the crowd at bay.
Talking of crowd, never before have I seen such crowds in a single place. Well okay, I forgot about our cricket matches. But crowds and cricket go hand-in-hand. Events such as the Aviation show are not generally associated with crowds. There is one particular incident on that day which will remain etched in my memory forever. After visiting all three exhibition halls, we were feeling so thirsty and walked over to the food courts to pick up some water bottles. But the crowd at the stall was so unruly, that we couldn’t even get any closer to the payment counter. That’s when we saw some Bisleri water bottles stacked up at a corner beside the Executive Lunch area. When we asked the attendant over there to sell us a couple of bottles, he said that they were being distributed for free by Vodafone – wow!!, sounds great. Actually, not that great ‘cos the mob surrounding the water bottle distribution counter is far worse than that at the food court. So, we requested the attendant to start another counter to distribute the water bottles. He obliged to our request and got 2 cartons of the water bottles. But even before he could open the carton boxes and distribute the bottles, the crowd around pounced on him and tore away the carton box and the bottles along with it. The scene was a lot like the ones they show on Discovery or Nat Geo where a piece of meat is thrown into a cage full of hungry wild animals and how the meat just disappears into the hungry mouths even before you could blink your eye. I guess this would give you some idea of the crowd at the show.
All and all, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Federation of Indian Chambers and Commerce Industry (FICCI) need to be complimented for a good show inside. But one is bound to get a feeling that the show “outside” – am referring to the traffic problems caused on that day was something which we all could have done without. It’s shocking how a single event in the heart of the city can bring the entire city to a stand-still. I guess it’s a case of poor planning and poorer execution on the part of the concerned officials. If this is going to be a regular affair as announced by the Civil Aviation ministry, then they better put their heads down right away and work out an intelligent solution to handle the traffic snarl. As far as I am concerned, am already looking forward to the 2010 edition…!!

Hypocrisy
You know what is hypocrisy?? The following is what I consider as hypocrisy...
- All the so called Women Empowerment Organizations celebrating Woman's Day after they claim that both the genders are equal. This one is real funny. For all the anti-male-chauvinistic women and men around the world.. when you claim that both the genders are equal, then why do you have to indulge so much in celebrating Woman's Day??? I mean, we don't have a Man's Day, do we ??!!! Then why this discrimination ???
- Till the boy and girl get married, they are mandated by the parents from both sides to not get physical although they are engaged and are experiencing courtship period. And the moment they get married, the entire clan from both sides get together and make sure that the boy and girl make it out that night itself with a lot of show off. Now you have to help me understand this. The way a marriage is perceived by me is... its like growing a tree. If its a case of a love marriage, then you are planting a sapling. If its a case of an arranged marriage, then you are sowing seeds. There is absolutely no guarantee in either case that they will succeed without proper care. The reason love marriage is compared to a sapling is that the couple has known each other for a while, so much so that they have connected at an emotional level. This level of intimacy will take time to happen in an arranged marriage. And if people believe that this intimacy will happen because of sex, then... sorry, doesn't sound convincing at all. Intimacy will happen because the couple gets to know each other by spending time with each other - intimate or otherwise. Please don't burden them with useless expectations.
- A wife (girlfriend)/husband (boyfriend) says to her/his spouse(partner)... "We don't spend much time in the bed... I think you don't love me" !!!! This one is an absolute clincher. I can understand if a guy or a gal says... "I am horny, let's have sex"... I am totally in agreement with that opinion. I know that lot of people consider sex as a biological and physiological need and you have complete right to express that desire with your partner. But if you say... "I want love, let's have sex".... then am stumped... Since when did having sex become the testimony of existence of love???

Axing your own feet !!!
Ever heard of this phrase... "axing your own feet"...?? Matlab.... apne pairon pe kulhadi maarna...
I feel that's precisely what Rigved from Mumbai did in his journey towards becoming AMUL VOICE OF INDIA CHOTE USTAAD. His slogans glorifying his birthland.... JAI MAHARASHTRA was very very jarring to the ears especially after the wonderful performances that he gave. After each vote appeal, he would yell out the slogan... (not to forget Abhaas here... I felt that even Abhaas kind of encouraged Rigved in his slogan-baazi), I would have this very uncomfortable feeling that the kid is not doing anything good to help his cause. I agree that we are all influenced by this "local" sentiment. But anybody who would have followed the trends in these talent shows involving public voting would have understood that this "local" sentiment doesn't hold good anywhere in India, barring the north-east perhaps. And to expect that the people of Mumbai(India's very own city that never sleeps !!!) to get behind Rigved and rig him to victory.... is almost blasphemous !!!
Having said all this, I have nothing against Rigved or the cute lil participant from the north-east... they both are bundles and oodles of talent... unfortunately they both haven't mastered the worldly ways... I mean duniyadaari !!! And if you actually ask me, I wouldn't want them also to shed their innocent ways and start playing with emotions... I cried today when Prakriti admitted that she doesn't deserve to to be the 2nd place on the basis of public voting. The kid is absolutely void of malice and ulterior motive... God bless you child !!!
Now that Mansi and Jayant have been eliminated, my bet is between the 2 A's - Aishwarya and Anwesha !!! Wow man... what talent... amazing... awesome... Aishwarya's rendition of Farida Khanum's Aaj jaane ki zidd na karo was out of this world !!! And when you get to know that she hadn't heard the original even once (I'd like to believe her mom when she said that... don't ask me why !!) it just adds much much more to the achievement !!!!! Not that the others are not good, but Vyom needs some more time... but he is pretty much on his way and Soniya has a set genre of songs where she just excels but... versatility is not her forte.... and that's precisely where Anwesha could just steal the show....

Tere Bin...
No... this is not Atif Aslam's "tere bin", but this is not any lesser in intensity and lyrical value... Its the Rabbi Shergill's version of "tere bin"... a juicy concoction of punjabi lyrics and western guitars...

Once too often: Caught in a triangle
Once too often: Caught in a triangle
When you’re committed to someone, but falling in love with someone else, life can get both hellish and exciting.
'Men marry because they are tired; women because they are curious. Both are disappointed.’ (Oscar Wilde)
Tina’s working late in office and she’s feeling low so she makes a call. Minutes later, she’s all chirpy and raring to go. Puzzled? Don’t be. She’s just spoken to someone she loves very deeply.
No, it’s not her husband. It’s her colleague Rakesh, who she’s been seeing for the past four years, the same length of time as she’s been married. She’s not in an unhappy marriage either, she just thinks she has the best of both worlds.
Does she really? Because at some point Tina’s going to have to make a decision: the husband or the colleague, and she hasn’t the faintest idea who.
There’s no such thing as a perfect marriage. That is a fact of life. You can see happy marriages all around you – two good-looking people with everything they desire and yet, the seemingly happy couple thinks there’s something missing. They’re still looking for that elusive ‘soul mate’.
Nothing unnatural about this. Most married couples spend a good part of their lives wishing they could change certain things about their partners and when they fail, disillusionment creeps in, leaving the marriage ‘alright’ but not as they would have wanted it.
This is when it gets dangerous. One day, they meet this amazing man or woman, who’s everything they’ve desired (at least that’s what they think) and when there’s such intense chemistry, it’s tough to stop the flow of emotions.
Committed people who’ve fallen in love with others are sitting on a veritable volcano, waiting for the explosion to happen. Funnily enough, it’s not even lust that motivates such relationships, it’s simply to make up for the things that are missing in the original relationship – things like romantic love, warmth and laughter.
When two people click mentally, coupled with deep physical attraction, an emotional drama is bound to begin. And it does, previous commitment or not. Monogamy is a myth, says relationship expert Peggy Vaughan.
Is your relationship in danger?“Like everything else, this depends on the situation and the individual,” says Rakhi Anand of Vimhans. Yes, you can be in love or emotionally attracted to two people at the same time and this usually happens to people with a specific personality type. It starts with a little bit of flirting and then leads to more and more emotional involvement. At some point, the first relationship loses its allure.
“That’s dangerous for any committed relationship, so people who feel tempted should examine the pros and cons before going ahead,” says Anand. It could happen to people in a happy twosome as well as unhappy. “It can’t possibly be a complete marriage when a partner looks for solace elsewhere. Deep down, he or she feels that their inner desires are not fulfilled, so they fall in love with someone else,” says Anand.
Suddenly last summer...Nobody actually goes hunting for soul mates. Sometimes you just happen to meet him/her at the most unexpected of places. You could be standing in a queue in front of a cheesecake shop and meet your ‘other’ partner and start a thrilling affair (like in A L Kennedy’s novel Indelible Acts) or you could be taken up with the attentions of your colleague, who has all the time in the world to listen to you, unlike your spouse.
If you’re the kind who gets bored easily, or thrives on change or are generally dissatisfied with life, you’re a potential candidate. “Very often unrealistic expectations from a spouse can trigger off that disillusionment,” says Garima Garg, a textile designer.
Down a cul de sacIf you’re sandwiched between two people, you are either in that euphoric state of having a bit too much to love or else in a really, really big mess. It’s exciting, no doubt, which is why you got into it in the first place.
“I meet men who are the opposite of my husband (read exciting) all the time and I do get tempted,” says Diksha Nath, a management trainee.
You can either look away from that attractive man or woman eyeing you because you’re committed elsewhere, or bury your head in the sand. But if you’re the kind who loves the idea of being in love, then do what your heart tells you to.
“From physical attraction to an intense emotional tie, these relationships have excitement laced with danger. For the risk-taking types, it can bring back the lost passion with their partner and sometimes it can lead to a marriage breaking up,” sums up Anand of Vimhans. At the end of the day it’s your life, so choose the one thing you want – truly. You’ll be the happier for it.

Un-break my heart .... !!!!!
"Un-break My Heart"
Don't leave me all in this pain
Don't leave me out in the rain
Come back and bring back my smile
Come and take these tears away
I need your arms to hold me now
The night are so unkind
Bring back those nights when I held you beside me
Un-break my heart
Say you'll love me again
Undo this hurt you caused
When you walked out the door
And walked out of my life
Un-cry these tearsI cried so many nights
Un-break my heart
My heart
Take back that sad word good-bye
Bring back the joy to my life
Don't leave me here with these tears
Come and kiss this pain away
I can't forget the day you left
Time is so unkind
And life is so cruel without you here beside me
Un-break my heart
Say you'll love me again
Undo this hurt you caused
When you walked out the door
And walked out of my life
Un-cry these tearsI cried so many nights
Un-break my heart
My heart
Don't leave me in all this pain
Don't leave me out in the rain
Bring back the nights when I held you beside me
Un-break my heart
Say you'll love me again
Undo this hurt you caused
When you walked out the door
And walked out of my life
Un-cry this tearsI cried so many, many nights
Un-break my
Un-break my heart oh baby
Come back and say you love me
Un-break my heartSweet darlin
'Without you I just can't go onCan't go on....
I'm listening to this song.... since morning..... dunno know why.!!!!!!!

The 90/10 principle..... AWESOME
:: :: The 90/10 Principle :: :::: :: Author : Stephen Covey ( Management Guru) :: ::
You are eating breakfast with your family. Your daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt. You have no control over what just what happened. What happens when the next will be determined by how you react.
- A) Did the coffee cause it?
- B) Did your daughter cause it?
- C) Did the policeman cause it?
- D) Did you cause it?
The answer is " D". You had no control over what happened with the coffee. How you reacted in those 5 seconds is what caused your bad day. Here is what could have and should have happened. Coffee splashes over you. Your daughter is about to cry. You gently say, "It's ok honey, you just need, to be more careful next time". Grabbing a towel you rush upstairs. After grabbing a new shirt and your briefcase, you come back down in time to look through the window and see your child getting on the bus. She turns and waves. You arrive 5 minutes early and cheerfully greet the staff. Your boss comments on how good the day you are having.
Notice the difference? Two different scenarios. Both started the same. Both ended different. Why? Because of how you REACTED. You really do not have any control over 10% of what happens. The other 90% was determined by your reaction.
Here are some ways to apply the 90/10 principle. If someone says something negative about you, don't be a sponge. Let the attack roll off like water on glass. You don't have to let the negative comment affect you! React properly and it will not ruin your day. A wrong reaction could result in losing a friend, being fired, getting stressed out etc.
How do you react if someone cuts you off in traffic? Do you lose your temper? Pound on the steering wheel? A friend of mine had the steering wheel fall off) Do you curse? Does your blood pressure skyrocket? Do you try and bump them? WHO CARES if you arrive ten seconds later at work? Why let the cars ruin your drive? Remember the 90/10 principle, and do not worry about it.
You are told you lost your job. Why lose sleep and get irritated? It will work out. Use your worrying energy and time into finding another job.
The plane is late; it is going to mangle your schedule for the day. Why take out your frustration on the flight attendant? She has no control over what is going on. Use your time to study, get to know the other passenger.
Why get stressed out? It will just make things worse. Now you know the 90-10 principle. Apply it and you will be amazed at the results. You will lose nothing if you try it.
The 90-10 principle is incredible. Very few know and apply this principle. The result? Millions of people are suffering from undeserved stress, trials, problems and heartache.
We all must understand and apply the 90/10 principle.
It CAN change your life***!!!!!!!

Some Kahlil Gibran quotes...
"Man is neither consulted about his birth nor about his death,and he will not be consulted about his eternal abode.Man registers his complaint about leaving this earth by his fear of death."
"Generosity is giving more than you can, and pride is taking less than you need. "
"God made Truth with many doors to welcome every believer who knocks on them. "
"I have learnt silence from the talkative, toleration from the intolerant, and kindness from the unkind; yet strange, I am ungrateful to these teachers."
"If indeed you must be candid, be candid beautifully."
"If you reveal your secrets to the wind you should not blame the wind for revealing them to the trees."
"It is well to give when asked, but it is better to give unasked, through understanding."
"Say not, 'I have found the truth,' but rather, 'I have found a truth.' "
"The lights of stars that were extinguished ages ago still reaches us. So it is with great men who died centuries ago, but still reach us with the radiations of their personalities."
"In battling evil, excess is good; for he who is moderate in announcing the truth is presenting half-truth. He conceals the other half out of fear of the people's wrath. "
"It is well to give when asked but it is better to give unasked, through understanding."
"Yes, there is a Nirvanah; it is leading your sheep to a green pasture, and in putting your child to sleep, and in writing the last line of your poem. "
"And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter and the sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed. "
Cheers!!

Him/Her......
For HER
Who calls you beautiful instead of hot,
Who calls you back when you hang up on him,
Who will stay awake just to watch you sleep.
Wait for the guy who kisses your forehead,
Who wants to show you off to the world when you are in your sweats,
Who holds your hand in front of his friends,
Wait for the one who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares about you and how lucky he is to have you.
Wait for the one who turns to his friends and says, "...that's her."

The parable of spoons
Thought for a Sunday morning...
A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, “Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like. “The Lord led the holy man to two doors.
He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew which smelled delicious and made the holy man’s mouth water.
The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.
The Lord said, “You have seen Hell.”
They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man’s mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, “I don’t understand.”
It is simple” said the Lord, “it requires but one skill. You see, they have learned to feed each other. While the greedy think only of themselves.

'Love'ly words...
The following are the words by an acquaintance of mine.... describing the feeling for beloved... I found them to be very touching... no malice... no ulterior motives... no real materialistic expectations... just pure LOVE !!!
~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!
Even when my lover scolded me for calling at his house I never felt bad. Even when he stopped seeing me I had only love for him, I just wanted to be with him, just see and touch him, to look after him and just serve him. I knew his wife does not look after him well, that he was very vulnerable and I just wanted him not to be troubled or inconvenienced in any way.Even now, when he has broken up with me without even telling me, all I feel towards him is love, goodwill and affection.
Whenever I think of him I get a lump in my throat. I long for his sight and touch. I will be just happy to have him before me, only if he will allow me to clean his room which would always be in such a mess. Only if he allows me to press his feet when he is tired. Only if he allows me to bring him a cold glass of water when he is tired. Only if he allows me to hang his clothes in the wardrobe when those come back after washing and ironing. Only if he would allow me to cook and serve him meals whenever he is back from work late.
No, I do not want sex with him if he does not want it.I do not want a kiss if he does not want to. I do not want to embrass him in front of his wife, kids, friends and relatives. I just want myself to just be recognized by him. Even if he takes cognizance that I exist, it is enough for me. But I do love him more than any body in this world. And I can not do this for any other person.
AND IF THIS IS NOT NATURAL I DO NOT KNOW WHAT ELSE IS NATURAL.

Talking of attitudes
You should always maintain an attitude of "What's right..." rather than "Who's right...". But I guess the huuuuuge egos that people carry, its not so easy to sport that attitude all the times... but there is no harm, I say. Give it a try...
Cheers !!

Nothing official about this
One of my acquaintance saw my blog and asked... "Why aren't you writing about your work here, because you said that you will write on just about anything here... so, why not work?"
Sounded fair enough question. But, my simple answer to that, is that I didnt feel like writing about my work here. And yes, this is not my diary. Its my personal canvas where I want to paint whatever comes to my mind and more often than not, it never even remotely ventures near my work related thoughts. Blame it on mind (as in "Blame it on Rio")
Currently listening to the soulful Telugu song... "Maate mantramu..." from the film "Seetakoka Chiluka"
Cheers !!

Friendship day...
The first sunday of August is observed as "Friendship Day" worldwide. A day when we take out time to connect with our friends and let them know how much they mean to us.
Friendships grow out of chance...
Meeting a mere glance,
& and then a smile...
& touches the heart in more ways than one !
Isn't it great how we have grown...
From being perfect strangersto who we're today !!
Pic and words courtesy: 123greetings.com
Yesterday was Friendship Day and surprisingly it was extremely normal. Woke up late, had a lazy and very heavy brunch, and spent rest of the day watching India-WI match.
Anyone had a smashing time?
Cheers!!

Notes to Myself ...
If one day u feel like crying.... call me. I dont promise that i will make u laugh, but i can cry with u. If one day u want to run away-- dont be afraid to call me. I dont promise to ask u to stop......but i can run with u. If one day u dont want to listen to anyone.....call me. I promise to be there for u but also promise to remain quiet. But one day if u call......and there is no answer.....come fast to see me. Perhaps i need you.

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory ??
I guess the above phrase best describes what India did last night at the 4th league match of the Indian Oil Cup in Dumbulla, Srilanka. Having SL on the mat with 96 for 6, anyone would have hoped for a victory but it was not to be. Some of the things which probably did not work for India were...
- Bhajji not being effective for a change
- Laxman could have been sacrificed for a specialist bowler ??
- Ganguly taking 110 balls for scoring 51 !!! Gosh... that was heights !!
- Balaji takes wickets only at the beginning of the innings ?? Why ??
- Kumble in the place of Laxman?
- A lot has been spoken of Suresh Raina being an all-rounder. Doesn't that include some bowling also ? All we have seen so far is 3 good run-outs. Oh, is that what you mean by an all-rounder??
As usual, I am just opinionating... and I have a legitimate right (or maybe even a left) to do so.
Cheers!!

PCs being sold at lesser than 10K !!
Yeah, I was surprised when I read this link on Engadget. Well, this could just be the beginning of the PC revolution in India. I dream of the utopic times when Internet would be freely available like air (is it really free these days, btw ?? !! :-) )
Anyways, till such time, I SHALL WAIT !!
Cheers!!

A True Love is...
A True Love is...
1. A friend.
2. One who needs a friend.
3. A lover.
4. Someone with whom you can discuss anything from menstrual periods to bathroom talk to sexual preferences to life and death to philosophy to science and back.
5. A confidant.
6. They aren't a supermodel, yet they are the most beautiful creature that you have ever laid eyes upon, even after twenty years.
7. Someone who occasionally reminds you uncannily of your parents at times although in different forms.
8. A shoulder to cry on.
9. Someone who needs a shoulder to cry on.
10. Your image of heaven includes this person rather profusely.
11. You can look back on the history that you created together and both cry and laugh, hopefully at different parts.
12. You are not the same person, instead two seperate entities that can combine into a supreme being.
13. You plan names for your kids.
14. Someone with whom you can discuss anything from menstrual periods to bathroom talk to sexual preferences to life and death to philosophy to science and back.
15. When this other person is asleep, you can't help it if you have a twenty page paper do the next morning, you just want to put the universe on hold and watch them.
16. They aren't a supermodel, yet they are the most beautiful creature that you have ever laid eyes upon, even after twenty years.
17. You find yourself thanking God that S/He allowed you to stumble accross this other person.
18. They can help you see things about yourself that you haven't seen before.
19. You help them see things about themselves that they haven't seen before.
20. You feel this uncanny sense of completeness whenever you are around this person.
21. Each of your seperate concerns and victories become a shared concern and victory.
22. You love them more than anything else in this entire world.
23. When you look down at your hands intertwined, you get a rush.
24. When you talk to this person, even on the phone, you feel butterflies. Especially after several years of knowing this person.
25. You are happy when your partner is happy.
26. When you hold your partner, it reminds you of something special you held as a child - ie a stuffed animal, a pillow.
27. Your love for this person grows daily.
28. You've seen your partner at their worst times and the best times.
29. They've seen you at your worst times and best times.
30. You ask yourself, "How did I survive without this person before now?"
31. You desire to be with this person the rest of your life (not necessarily marriage).
32. Your heart tells you it's right.
33. True love is patient.
34. True love is classified as delusional.
35. True love is addictive.
36. True love waits, (how long, I do NOT know!).
37. Your true love can define or destroy your world.
38. Your true love will not change for you.
39. You will not have to change for your true love.
40. The eyes of the other is what make it worthwhile, for in them you can see the boundless love kept just under the surface.
41. The little voice in the back of your head will quiet its shouting and dire portents, for it will recognize that he/she is your true love.
42. Your true love knows what to say, how to say it, when to say it, and when not to, to help you along.
43. Your true love won't leave you.
44. When you can hold hands and skip together in public and not give a damn about who sees you and what they say (Thanks to Olaf Carlsen and Kristen).
45. You smile when you look at their picture.
46. It feels natural to both of you.
47. You get used to having this other person around very quickly.
48. You miss this person constantly.
49. Your true love will buy you a cat just because you said they were cute.
The most important thing is that these feelings must be mutual, not pressured from one another or out of guilt. Also remember, what is meant to be, will be. That is the true meaning of life:
Life is a journey from one point to another. You know where you will end up, but you don't know what route will get you there. The journey itself is what makes life and love worthwhile, not the outcome.
Cheers !!
PS : I found this on some website... and unfortunately I don't remember where... it was lying in my collection of interesting stuff. I felt that there are people who should be reading this.

Choosing b'ween 'cheap', 'quick', and 'good'
Check out this really good quote...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We do three kinds of jobs, cheap, quick, and good.
You can have any two:
A good, quick job-won't be cheap.
A good job, cheap-won't be quick.
A cheap job, quick-won't be good.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
which one do you choose ??
Cheers !!

Out of the blue !! some lyrics of my choice ...
Out of the Blue ...
(Jascha Richter)
I was almost about to lose my faith
Was still dreaming but feared it was too late
But then you came along to my surprise
and stole my heart before my very eyes
Chorus:
You took me right out of the blue
simply by showing that you love me too
only by giving me your everything
with a love so true you took me out of the blue
I was wondering what love was all about
I was trying but couldn't work it out
But then you came along to my surprise
and made my frozen mind come alive
Chorus:
You took me right out of the blue
simply by showing that you love me too...
You let me out of the darkness
you brought me out in the sun
I think you must be the only one for me
'cos you took me
Chorus:
Right out of the blue
simply by showing that you love me too
only by giving me your everything
breathing air below my wings
You took me right out of the night
simply by filling my heart with light
only by giving me your energy
with a love so true you took me out of the blue

I actually was writing about my weekend trip. And... suddenly I slipped into my musical moods... and none better to satiate my musical needs than MLTR... love all of their soft rock numbers... but the above one is my personal fave. I actually have some fond memories attached to it :-)
A hindi song which I like a lot is from the movie "Jurm", and one of the verse goes...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ho chandni jab tak raat,
Deta hai har koi saath...
Tum magar andheron mein,
Na chodna meraa haath...
Jab koi baat bigad jaaye,
Jab koi mushkil pad jaaye...
Tum dena saath mera, O humnawa...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another hindi song which I find very hummable is from the movie, "Phir teri kahaani yaad aayi" and it goes ...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dil mein sanam ki soorat,
Aankhon mein aashiqui de...
Dil mein sanam ki soorat,
Aankhon mein aashiqui de...
Mere khuda mujhe tu,
Ek aur zindagi de...
Sau saal tak sanam ki,
Aankhon mein doob jaoon...
Sau saal aur ho to,
Usko gale lagaoon...
Sau saal phir milan ki,
Duniya nayi nayi de...
Sau saal phir milan ki,
Duniya nayi nayi de...
Mere khuda mujhe tu,
Ek aur zindagi de...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yeah, I do carry my heart on my sleeve. Been taken for a ride on more than one occasion, but I dont seem to have learnt anything.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Poolalo tene prema,
Tenelo teepi prema...
Teepilo haayi prema,
Haayi neevandi prema...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is another song which haunts me quite regularly... I am bad at translation. Maybe somebody could do that...

~~~ Of minds and hearts ~~~
Yeah, this one is for all those one-liners, quotes which talk about hearts and minds(read brains) :-)
"Like hearts, minds, go where they are appreciated"
- This one is my personal fave, I also use it as my e-mail signature.
"Where the heart speaks, the mind finds it indecent to object"
-Another good one. Read it just now.
"Work with your heart on a personal relationship and work with your mind on a business relationship"
- No comments .. ahem
Many more coming ....
Cheers !!
